If there was ever a better way to capture the ridiculousness of Friday’s Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul bout, it would be this:
The Paul family in Ohio was celebrating the birth of a blond baby boy named Jake on January 17, 1997.
“Is Tyson finished?” was the question posed on the cover of the International Boxing Digest that month.
After being destroyed by Evander Holyfield in just 11 rounds two months prior, “Iron Mike” was already past his best, but to answer the question, he wasn’t done yet.
Twenty-seven years later, Jake, who calls himself the “Problem Child,” takes on Tyson, who is 58, in in&T Stadium in Dallas.
