LAHORE: As the government and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) square off, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has called for a national discussion to resolve the current political crisis.
PTI convoys are marching towards Islamabad from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), which is currently in Punjab, to express their disapproval of various matters, including the release of Imran Khan, the founder of their party.
While life has been paralyzed in Punjab’s neighboring cities as well as in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, the government has positioned containers throughout the capital.
In a statement, Liaqat Baloch, the senior leader of JI, emphasized that the ongoing political unrest is driving people away from politics.
Baloch criticized the opposition parties and the coalition administration, claiming that their methods of protest politics and governance had failed.
