On Friday, emergency services were summoned to the Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf, Maryland, after the bounce house was raised “approximately 15 to 20 feet up in the air”.
Some of the children within the inflatable, which was brought up to entertain kids at Southern Maryland Blue Crabs games, plummeted to the baseball field before it could land.
Maryland State Police flew two youngsters to youngsters’s National Hospital in Washington, DC.
A 5-year-old youngster from La Plata was pronounced deceased later that evening.
The second youngster sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses informed News that the bouncy castle was fixed with stakes pounded into the ground.
According to a news release from Charles County’s local government, emergency services who were already at the stadium for the game, as well as baseball team trainers and many volunteers, began caring for patients minutes after the bouncy castle took flight.
Local government commissioner president Reuben Collins stated, “We send our heartfelt sympathies to the youngsters and their families during this terrible time.
