On Wednesday, a British doctor was sentenced to more than 31 years in prison for his bold but failed scheme to poison his victim by falsifying medical records and disguising himself as someone else in order to kill his mother’s lover using a phony COVID-19 vaccination.
In Newcastle, northern England, 53-year-old Thomas Kwan pretended to be a nurse and even took his mother’s blood pressure before poisoning her then-partner Patrick O’Hara.
O’Hara lived, but after getting the injection, she developed necrotizing faciitis, a potentially lethal bacterial infection that consumes flesh. He also had several procedures.
Shortly after his trial at Newcastle Crown Court started last month, Kwan, a Sunderland family doctor, entered a guilty plea to attempted murder.
