ISLAMABAD: The Parliamentary Committee on National Security decided to deal with terrorist organizations using a “iron hand” during its in-camera meeting on Tuesday.
On the recommendation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq called the high-level national meeting in light of the growing number of terrorist attacks in the nation as a whole and in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan specifically.
PM Shehbaz, General Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Asim Malik, the Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI), the chief ministers of all four provinces, and other high-ranking officials attended the meeting.
However, a number of important individuals did not attend the high-level meeting, including members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), NA Opposition Leader Omar Ayub, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
