KARACHI: With the minimum temperature at the port city’s Jinnah Terminal falling as low as 6.2 degrees Celsius, residents are still trembling in the current chilly weather, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported on Tuesday.
The cold wave is predicted to last until January 9, according to the Met Office. The city’s minimum temperature is expected to be between 7°C and 9°C for the next 24 hours, it added, with humidity levels at 27% and northeasterly winds blowing at 5 km/h.
The weather service also reported below-normal temperatures in the vicinity of Jinnah Terminal, which typically average 12°C in January.
In other parts of Karachi, Gulistan-e-Jauhar reported a temperature of 7.5 °C.
