ISLAMABAD: In a case involving the recovery of weapons and alcohol, a trial court in Islamabad suspended on Thursday the non-bailable arrest warrant issued against Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The trial judge halted the arrest order after hearing the provincial chief executive’s argument and getting “assurance” from Gandapur’s attorney.
Gandapur was given temporary bail by a Peshawar High Court (PHC) bench made up of Justices Arshad Ali and Shahid Khan, who also instructed him to appear before the appropriate courts.
The provincial chief executive filed a bail petition this morning, asking the high court to grant temporary bail so he could appear in the relevant court in the aforementioned issue.
The Barakahu station house officer was given an order by Civil Judge Shaista Khan Kundi one day earlier.
