SUKKUR: Karo-Kari, a form of so-called honor killing that is common in Sindh’s rural and tribal areas, was committed in a tragic occurrence in the Badin district when a father cruelly tortured his daughter to death because she wanted to marry a guy of her choosing.
Most of the victims of these murders are women who are accused of embarrassing their families by pursuing marriage on their own initiative or by having relationships outside of marriage or before marriage.
Sometimes people are murdered based just on hearsay or rumors.
The victim was named Indirah Bheel, and the murder suspect, Dodo Bheel, a Lanwari Sharif Town inhabitant, was taken into custody by the police.
The suspect told reporters that he killed his daughter after she supposedly murdered him.
