At least six people perished in the fire on Monday, and two people leaped to their deaths from the upper stories of the razed eight-story old Russian electronics research institution, according to the news agency.
Flames rushed up the walls of the building outside Moscow, and black smoke billowed from it.
There were many who were stuck on the upper stories and could not get out.
The Russian Emergency Ministry published a video showing fire engines and helicopters fighting a 5,000 square meter fire.
According to the ministry, the building’s interior structures collapsed, and there was a loud explosion as gas canisters burst in the flames.
The press office informed the news agency that the building’s gas-air mix canisters are impeding the extinguishing attempt.
Situated approximately 15.5 miles (25 kilometers) northeast of the capital, the building is shared by multiple organizations.
The Telegram channel posted a video of a man jumping from the higher floor of the building.
Video released by the Shot Telegram channel revealed that another person with severe burns fell from the top stories.
