At around 1.50 p.m., Mountjoy Square in Dublin reported that a silver Nissan Qashqai hatchback had been hijacked. This information was given to the police.
“Just over two hours” had passed since she disappeared from her parents, according to Superintendent Liam Geraghty.
Although the mother and father were going through “obviously a very traumatic time,” he said, “thankfully, they were all reunited together shortly after 4pm.”
“White, middle-aged male wearing dark clothing and a baseball cap” is the suspect, Mr. Geraghty continued.
Pending additional investigation, police now believe the event looks to have been an opportunistic crime.
The force also stated that because of the event, it had sent out a Child Rescue Ireland (CRI) alert. Since then, it has been canceled.
