Former New Jersey state senator Edward Durr told the News he thinks the Garden State may experience many political earthquakes this year. Durr made national headlines in 2021 when he defeated longstanding state Senate President Stephen Sweeney in an otherwise outrageous bid.
Durr may face Sweeney again if he decides to run for governor in 2021. Durr will face state senator Jon Bramnick and GOP contender for governor in 2021 in the Republican primary.
The Republican from Gloucester County stated that his campaign for governor is similar to his initial attempt to unseat Sweeney, adding that 2024 will likewise be a “campaign of grassroots.”
