In an effort to improve judicial efficiency and address issues pertaining to case pending, newly appointed Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi presided over the first full court meeting on Monday.
A copy of the Supreme Court’s statement, which can be found on Geo News, states that all of the court’s judges attended the entire session. Senior puisne judge Justice Mansoor Ali Shah joined via video link because he is currently in Saudi Arabia performing Umrah.
With an emphasis on steps to lower the backlog of cases and improve judicial efficiency, the meeting was called to evaluate the Supreme Court’s performance in the institution and resolution of cases.
