A grey Citroen DS9, a white Ford Transit van, and a DAF livestock transporter truck and trailer crashed on the A354 Salisbury Road at East Woodyates on Monday night, just before 530 p.m., causing police to be called.
The Hampshire-born boy was riding in the Citroen. His family has been notified that he passed away at the scene.
According to Dorset Police, the driver of the Citroen, a Hampshire lady in her 30s, has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder and a driving infraction.
The police agency also stated that she was taken to a hospital to receive treatment for her wounds and is still being held there.
According to Detective Chief Inspector Neil Third, “initial lines of enquiry” have been concluded and a “detailed scene examination was carried out overnight”.
“I would ask anyone who has not spoken to police yet or who may have taken pertinent dashcam footage to come forward,” he continued.
“Also, I am keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the manner of driving of any of the vehicles involved prior to the incident.”
