It’s possible they have something to do with his lawsuit against News Group Newspapers (NGN), the publisher.
The removal of the duke’s messages with John Moehringer from the Signal communications app and the drafts of Spare before they were published, according to Mr. Justice Fancourt, were not plainly evident.
He said that there was proof that “many potentially relevant documents” and “private messages” exchanged between Harry and his ghostwriter “were destroyed sometime between 2021 and 2023, well after the commencement of this claim.”
He gave the duke’s attorneys instructions to search the laptop one more time and look through his Whatsapp, Signal, and text messages from January of last year to May of this year.
Additionally, Harry has been mandated to pay NGN £60,000 in interim legal fees after the judge mostly granted the publisher’s plea for a more comprehensive search for evidence.
The prince was previously charged with setting up a “obstacle course” in his legal dispute with NGN.
The publisher’s attorneys further asserted that the Duke of Sussex was forced “kicking and screaming” to provide over 11,000 emails from an account that is now closed.
