Sean Bailey, the president of motion picture production, will leave his position as a result of the change, having held it for fifteen years.
It comes after recent underwhelming box office results for attractions like Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion.
David Greenbaum, the head of Disney’s Searchlight Pictures, will take his place.
Disney announced that Mr. Bailey will continue to work for the firm as a producer on several projects, including the upcoming science fiction film Tron: Ares.
Mr. Bailey was in charge of the live-action versions of The Jungle Book, Maleficent, and Alice in Wonderland during his time there.
Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King were among his other popular films.
For the media behemoth, his combined works generated an estimated $7 billion (£5.5 billion) in global box office receipts.
However, he was also in charge of The Little Mermaid last year, which fell short of others’ successes.
