Alcon Entertainment, a production company, says it explicitly turned down Warner Bros.’ request to use the movie’s content at the unveiling of Tesla’s eagerly anticipated robotaxi.
Alcon claims that Tesla and the other event organizers used artificial intelligence (AI) to produce promotional images based on the movie in spite of its rejection. The event took place on October 10.
Neither Tesla nor Warner Bros. immediately responded to News’s requests for comment.
According to the lawsuit, the “financial magnitude of the misappropriation here was substantial.”
“Any wise company thinking about partnering with Tesla must weigh Musk’s widely publicized, highly politicized.
Additionally, Alcon accused the event organizers of “false endorsement” by implying that the production business and Tesla were connected.
The robotaxi launch event was hosted in one of Warner Bros.’ film studios, which also distributed Blade Runner 2049. Blade Runner 2049 was released in 2017.
Starring Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana de Armas, and Jared Leto, the much awaited follow-up to the 1982 cyberpunk classic Blade Runner took home two Academy Awards.
