When Mark Ross appeared at Leeds Crown Court via video link from prison, he acknowledged to the manslaughter of Claudiu-Carol Kondor but denied murder.
While attempting to make a delivery, Mr. Kondor, 42, of Sheffield, had his silver Ford Transit Cargo van stolen. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At the time, he was working for a company named SP Transport Group, who termed him “more than just a colleague – he was a friend, a confidant, and a valued member of our team.” It was understood that he was delivering goods for Amazon.
At the time, there were two other people in custody.
A lady who was detained concurrently on suspicion of aiding an offender was freed under investigation, and a 24-year-old guy who had been detained on murder charges was freed on bail pending additional inquiry.
On March 4 of next year, Ross, of Conference Road, Armley, Leeds, is scheduled to go on trial for the murder of Mr. Kondor.
He’s been placed on custody remand.
