Karachi: A man accused of raping his daughter and engaging in criminal intimidation was given a 32-year prison sentence by a Sessions Court on Thursday.
In May 2020, Muhammad Shahid, who was under the jurisdiction of the New Karachi police station, was found guilty of abusing his daughter at their home.
Mirza Tauseef Ahmed, the Additional Sessions Judge (Central), declared that the prosecution had successfully proven the accused’s criminal intimidation and sexual assault accusations.
For the offense punishable under Section 376 (rape) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), he sentenced the convicted party to 25 years of harsh imprisonment.
In addition, the accused received a seven-year prison sentence for criminal intimidation, which is punishable under Section 506 of the PPC.
