KARACHI: A man was given a nine-year prison sentence by a judicial magistrate on Thursday for posting “indecent” images and videos of a girl on social media.
In a case brought under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (Peca), the judicial magistrate south rendered the decision.
After Muhammad Shoaib was found guilty of the crime, the court fined him Rs 90,000 and sentenced him to nine years in prison.
The individual was found guilty in a related case in 2017, the court said, and his appeal is currently pending in the Sindh High Court (SHC).
The accused was tormenting the woman by posting pornographic images and videos on social media, the court noted.
