Karachi: On Saturday, it was revealed that a man in Surjani Town, the port city, had been the subject of a first information report (FIR) for reportedly harassing a polio worker.
A female polio worker reported that a guy exposed himself to her when she was delivering polio drops at a flat in the afternoon in a case filed on December 18 at Surjani Police Station.
There have been 64 polio cases in Pakistan this year, up from six in 2023. The most recent incidence was also reported in Sindh, which contains Karachi as its metropolis.
The police announced that they had opened an investigation after receiving the complaint. Sections 294 (obscene acts and songs) and 509 (insulting) of the CrPC are the targets of the lawsuit.
