A bank in Islamabad was the target of a second armed robbery today, which left one person dead and numerous others injured. An Askari Bank van carrying cash to a National Bank branch was ambushed by armed thieves in Sector G-9/4.
The helmeted bandits reportedly fired at security officers before making off with a bag of cash.
Three staff members of a nearby hotel and two security officers were hurt in the gunfire. One hotel employee passed away from their wounds after the injured were transported to PIMS hospital.
This comes after a similar occurrence yesterday in Sector G-15, where a bank heist claimed the life of a security guard.
One security guy was hurt in a different incident in Sector I-9 when a bank van was fired upon.
