A stabbing attack on a college campus in eastern China on Saturday left eight people dead and seventeen injured, according to authorities. This is the most recent in a string of attacks that have rocked a country that has historically had low rates of violent crime.
According to a police statement, the attack happened at the Wuxi Vocational Institute of Arts and Technology in Yixing, Jiangsu province, at approximately 6:30 p.m.
Screams can be heard in the background as the video verifies that multiple victims are laying still on the ground, some of them surrounded by bystanders.
A new graduate who was inspired by “failing (an) exam, not receiving a graduation certificate, and dissatisfaction with internship compensation” was one of the suspects arrested at the site, according to police.
