On a request by the police, the judge granted the order, stating that the exhumation and autopsy of Dr. Kunbhar’s body, who was reportedly killed by Mirpurkhas police in a staged encounter on September 19, would begin at 11:00 a.m. under the direction of the board, which would be led by Dr. Wasim, acting police surgeon of Hyderabad.
Dr. Tahir Qureshi, AMS (medico legal) of Liaquat University Hospital (LUH) in Hyderabad; Prof. Dr. Wahid Nahyoon, forensic expert of LUMHS; and Dr. Rahil Khan, pathologist, round up the board.
In accordance with Sections 296, 296, 341, 114, 336B, 147, 148, and 149 read with Section 19917 of the ATA, the Umerkot Taluka police station would conduct the exhumation in relation to crime No. 44/24.
