The early years of Games Workshop were less glitzy than those of most of the largest corporations in the world.
According to Sir Ian Livingstone, “we ended up having to live in a van.”
In 1975, he and co-founder Steve Jackson established the company, which is well known for its Warhammer video games.
Sir Ian tells News that in order to launch their business, the two requested a bank manager for £10,000.
They would later produce well-liked tiny figures that gamers collect, paint, and use in intricate tabletop combat.
But things got off to a rough start.
“He looked at us rather like a dog watching television, no understanding of what we were talking about, and asked us to leave,” he recounts.
