This isn’t your typical coffee—not even a single coffee bean is used in its preparation.
It originates from Atomo, one of several alternative coffee startups aiming to transform the brewed coffee industry.
“Our aim is not to be a coffee alternative,” asserts Andy Kleitsch, CEO of Atomo, a start-up located in Seattle, whose clean, beanless ground product is used to make my espresso.
Conventional coffee replacements are typically devoid of caffeine and have a bad reputation for tasting nothing like coffee.
But the newcomers want to imitate every aspect of one of the most well-liked drinks in the world—taste, punch from caffeine, and drinking experience.
It is anticipated that this effect would grow as demand rises, since traditional tea-drinking nations like China and India are seeing substantial increases in consumption.
Plantations are being forced to relocate higher in order to avoid the heat due to climate change.
Thus, coffee without beans may be a less harmful option for the environment.
Additionally, the newcomers contend that if expanded, beanless coffee may prove to be less expensive than its traditional rivals.
It is also pertinent that this point be made, given that coffee prices have reached all-time highs on global markets this year.
