A picture of a blood-stained baby’s milk bottle is making the rounds on Pakistani social media. According to internet users, it depicts the violence against children in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kurram district.
In Kurram, a district that borders Afghanistan, sectarian violence has intensified over the past week, killing 88 people.
The picture in question, meanwhile, is not from Kurram.

An image of a blood-stained milk container was posted on YouTube, claiming it was taken on November 21 during an attack in Kurram where two convoys were fired upon by militants.
The video caption said, “103 Shia Muslims, including 10 children, were killed by terrorists in Parachinar.”
Similar assertions were also made on Facebook and X, formerly Twitter.
