After serving as senior in-house counsel for the Post Office, Jarnail Singh took on the role of head of criminal law in 2012.
The investigation into the Horizon incident revealed that, although he saved and printed the report, he was copied on an email that revealed the accounting system bug. He denied knowing about it for years.
Mr. Singh refuted the assertions made by the inquiry’s lawyer, Jason Beer KC.
Three days prior to sub-postmaster, Mr. Beer stated that the report was sent to Mr. Singh.
Ms. Misra was accused of stealing £74,000 from her branch in West Byfleet, Surrey, and was given a 15-month prison sentence when she was eight weeks pregnant.
