By hacking out a bathroom window and using a bedsheet as a homemade rope to scale the wall, a prisoner was able to escape from Malir Jail.
Authorities at the jail claim that on October 21, Muhammad Javed—who was incarcerated in barrack number 5 following a conviction for rape—carried out the escape.
Law enforcement acted quickly after the event, apprehending seven correctional employees from the Shah Latif region.
In connection with the escape, authorities are getting ready to prosecute Javed and eight correctional staff members who were on duty for negligence and recklessness.
