Singapore: Security officials in Singapore announced Monday that they had arrested a teenager who reportedly trained for a mission to kill Muslims, akin to the 2019 massacre in New Zealand, using a violent online game.
Nick Lee, 18, is accused of organizing an attack that was similar to the one that white nationalist Brenton Tarrant carried out in New Zealand six years prior.
In March 2019, Tarrant went on a spree and carried out the nation’s deadliest mass shooting in modern times, killing 51 people at mosques throughout Christchurch.
According to Singapore’s Internal Security Department (ISD), Lee “aspired to carry out attacks against Muslims in Singapore with like-minded far-right individuals that he conversed with online.”
According to the department, one of his attack goals was to attack Muslims in a mosque in the manner of Tarrant.
