In a similar vein, 30% of respondents claimed to have “very little” or no faith at all in higher education.
Conservatives’ confidence, which was already low in the past, has “reached a floor,” while Democrats, women, and younger Americans—those between the ages of 18 and 34—saw “some of the largest drops.”
On the one hand, others claim that because so many Americans now realize their expectations for their return on investment in higher education were not met, schools and universities have lost their credibility.
“Those of us who attended college or University in the mid 2000s (when quality started really dropping) have seen that it had little or no impact on our careers and that most of what we were taught ended up having very little value in the real world,” Bobby said.
