At a meeting of the Sindh Assembly, a resolution calling for Dr. Aafia Siddiqui to be sent back to Pakistan was unanimously approved.
Mohammad Farooq, a member of Jamaat-e-Islami, introduced the resolution, highlighting the necessity of her return.
“Dr. Aafia Siddiqui should be brought back to Pakistan,” Farooq said during the discussion, emphasizing the continued worry about her circumstances. With the announcement of the establishment of a high-level committee that would visit the United States to examine Siddiqui’s case, Provincial Minister Syed Sardar Shah told the assembly that the federal government is actively tackling the problem.
Sardar Shah went on to say there will be no issues with the Sindh Assembly’s voice being included in the federal government’s initiatives.
Farooq praised the actions being taken, and he conveyed gratitude for the federal government’s endeavors.
