The Punjab government breached the production orders for PTI Senator Ejaz Chaudhry, the Senate Standing Committee on Procedure and Privileges said on Friday. The committee also noted that it could suggest a penalty under “Committee Rule 78” in this respect.
Senator Taj Haider, who presided over the Senate committee meeting, instructed the provincial administration to bring the PTI lawmaker before the committee if he was prepared to do so.
Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani brought the issue to the privileges committee earlier this month after voicing his displeasure over the non-implementation of the production order for PTI Senator Ejaz Chaudhry, who is now jailed.
