The regional administration reported on Wednesday that a Sudanese military transport plane crashed into a residential neighborhood outside of Khartoum, killing 46 people.
On Tuesday evening, the Antonov plane crashed close to Wadi Seidna Air Base, which is one of the army’s biggest military installations in Omdurman, northwest of the city.
The plane crashed on takeoff, killing and wounding both military personnel and civilians, according to the army, which has been at war with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) since April 2023.
