A Pakistani man who was allegedly involved in distributing false information was arrested in Lahore, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran announced on Tuesday, weeks after fake news caused anti-immigrant riots in the United Kingdom.
In recent weeks, there have been widespread riots in Britain following the dissemination of false information on the identity of the person suspected of carrying out the knife attack that killed three young girls on July 29 of this year.
Many mosques, refugee facilities, and immigrant houses were attacked during the recent riots in various parts of Britain.
