The third robbery-related death in Karachi since the start of the year occurred on January 15 when 17-year-old Muzaffar Iqbal was shot and killed while returning home from Fajr prayer in the Janjal Pura Goth area of Korangi. According to SSP Korangi Kamran Khan, the young boy was shot immediately after raising the alarm, and the Station House Officer (SHO) of Zaman Town and the local checkpoint in-charge were suspended in response to the incident. This shooting comes after two previous robbery-related deaths earlier in January, underscoring Karachi’s persistent problem with street crime.
