In its praise of Pakistan’s chief of army staff (COAS), Unipath, the US Central Command (Centcom) magazine, described General Syed Asim Munir as a “forceful voice against violent extremists” and said he would be remembered as a leader whose top priority is the safety, stability, and prosperity of the nation.
General Munir’s leadership, military experience, and counterterrorism initiatives were also praised in the report. It clarified his views on socioeconomic policies, terrorism, fifth-generation warfare, and the ability to counter foreign aggression.
It also praised the army chief’s counterterrorism efforts and said that under his supervision, 22,409 intelligence-based operations and other decisive military actions were conducted against extremist groups, according to Radio Pakistan.
It stated that 398 terrorists were killed during these operations.
