On Saturday night, a 19-year-old Walmart employee was found dead in the walk-in oven of the Halifax, Nova Scotia, location.Around 9:30 p.m., authorities were notified.
Although it is yet unknown whether there was any possible criminal involvement, the Halifax Regional Police are currently looking into the circumstances surrounding her death in coordination with Occupational Health and Safety and the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service.
The victim and her mother had just moved to Canada from India two or three years prior. The Maritime Sikh Society asked for openness in the current investigation and offered their sympathies.
Walmart is providing counseling services to its employees and has temporarily closed the impacted store in response to the occurrence.
