According to Metropolitan Police, the victim was a woman in her fifties, and the attack occurred on Monday afternoon in Hornchurch.
“Police were called to Cornwall Close around 1.12pm… after reports of a woman being attacked by a dog,” a force spokesperson said.
“Medics from the London Ambulance Service treated the woman, but she was pronounced dead on the scene.
“Armed officers responded to the danger. After evaluating the circumstances, officers were able to securely seize two dogs.
“These were registered XL bully dogs who had been kept in a room in the residence before cops arrived.
