On Friday, a former takeout worker who was discovered to have Bitcoin worth over £2 billion was sentenced to six years and eight months in prison for a money laundering-related offense.
42-year-old Jian Wen of Hendon, north London, was involved in exchanging the money for valuables like jewelry and multimillion-pound homes.
She was found guilty in March of getting into or becoming involved in a money laundering scheme at Southwark Crown Court.
According to the Metropolitan Police, the seizure was the biggest of its sort in the UK at the time of the conviction.
