RAWALPINDI: The military’s media wing said on Sunday that a young Pakistan Army officer accepted martyrdom at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Peshawar, passing away from wounds received in a ferocious shootout with Khawarij rebels in the Tirah Valley of Khyber District.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), district Attock resident Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik, 24, was receiving critical care at the CMH.
The “Khawarij” and security personnel engaged in gunfire at three separate points in the Tirah Valley, according to the ISPR.
Lieutenant Uzair Mehmood Malik led his forces valiantly from the front at one of the Bagh locations, sending four Khawarij to hell in the process. Nevertheless, the cop suffered serious injuries during a fierce gunfight,” the statement stated.
