In a pool at Orlando, Florida’s Discovery Cove, Anna Beaumont was discovered unconscious.
She was taken to the hospital on Tuesday in critical condition, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, but she passed away the following day.
The force released the following statement: “We regret to inform you that on May 29, 2024, 13-year-old Anna Beaumont was declared dead at the hospital.
“Any information about the cause and manner of her death will need to come from the Medical Examiner’s Office.”
The headteacher of Ms. Beaumont’s school, Radyr Comprehensive, Andrew Williams, said in a statement provided to the news: “I know I speak for myself when I say that the idea of losing a child is an unimaginable journey.”
Everyone who had the privilege of knowing Anna, including the faculty and students, will be incredibly saddened by her departure. She was a treasured member of our school family.
“Her spirit, kindness, and presence touched so many lives.”
A representative for the Foreign Office stated: “We are in touch with the family following the death of a child in the United States, and are providing consular support during this difficult time.”
