ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has been notified by Pakistan’s Additional Attorney General (AAG), Amir Rehman, that the government is committed to pursuing the contempt case against Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
His remarks were made on Tuesday at a hearing on the federal government’s contempt of court case over Khan’s violation of court orders during the May 25, 2022, long march.
A seven-member constitutional bench led by Justice Aminuddin Khan presided over the hearing. Justices Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi, Naeem Akhtar Afghan, and Shahid Bilal Hassan were among the judges.
