After traveling to Karachi in October of last year to marry Nidal Ahmed Memon, a 19-year-old Pakistani resident of the port city, Onijah Robinson, an American, agreed on Friday to return home.
She gained notoriety after her lover purportedly left her, claiming that her family did not approve of their union.
Onijah traveled in Karachi on October 11 with the intention of marrying Memon, whom she had been friends with on social media. Memon’s family, however, rejected the plan.
She later received financial support and a return ticket to the United States from an NGO, but she refused to go. Rather, she went to Memon’s house and set up camp in the parking lot of the apartment.
Onijah, though, has finally consented to go back to America.
