For the first time in over ten years, Abercrombie & Fitch looks to be headed for a second year of double-digit sales growth.
The business, which also owns Hollister, has informed investors that it anticipates a 10% increase in revenues this year compared to 2023.
That follows a 16% increase from the previous year and is almost twice as high as previously predicted.
Known in the 1990s for appealing to youths and notorious for its shirtless models, the brand is now targeting adults with options that include wide-leg, baggy jeans, wedding dresses, and work-appropriate clothing.
Among other things, it has adopted a more inclusive stance by offering a greater range of sizes. This is a noteworthy change for a company whose former CEO, Mike Jeffries, famously said that “a lot of people don’t belong” in the clothes the company sells.
“Back from the dead” Abercrombie consented to pay $50 million (£39 million) in 2004 to resolve allegations that its hiring policies had discriminated against women and minorities.
In addition, Mr. Jefferies was accused of running a sex trafficking network and of abusing and sexually abusing men at parties he hosted all over the world. He has refuted these accusations.
