LONDON: British-Pakistani educator Bilal Sheikh is a role model who has taught thousands of children well, contributing novel ideas to contemporary education and benefiting the UK, according to Labour Member of Parliament (MP) Jas Singh Athwal.
The Ilford North Labour MP and former Redbridge council leader was giving a speech at the yearly convocation of Mont Rose College of Management and Sciences, which was founded by Bilal Sheikh almost twenty years ago.
The MP informed more than 150 graduating students that his parents, who were originally from Gujranwala in Pakistan, had moved to India in 1947 before moving to the UK, where he was born, and that their only concern had been for their kids to succeed in school.
