LONDON—According to the university’s own policies, former prime minister Imran Khan is ineligible to be Oxford Chancellorship’s King’s Counsel at UK’s top law firm Matrix Chambers.
Hugh Southey, a King’s Counsel at London’s Matrix Chambers, stated: “Given one of his criminal convictions, I don’t think Imran will be able to run.”
Beltway Grid, a policy advocacy group, says that it examined Southey’s legal analysis about the Oxford Chancellor elections.
The group expressed concerns about how the institution may manage its legal responsibilities in light of Southey’s statement, which they claimed has drawn attention to Imran’s legal aspects of his candidacy.
