The man accused of rape under false pretenses of marriage had his pre-arrest bail denied by the Lahore High Court. The defendant—known as Riaz Hussain—then left after the court’s decision.
Hussain stated that the victim had “trapped” him and that there had never been a marriage during the hearing, which was chaired by Justice Asjad Javed Gharal.
He seemed to be a young man who had been “trapped,” the court said.
The judge denied the accused’s request for pre-arrest bail in spite of his assertions. The Factory Area police station has filed a case against Hussain.
As soon as the court made its ruling, Hussain fled. Right now, police are looking for him.
