As the search for the gunman approaches the end of its fourth day, a law enforcement official told news that NYPD divers were looking for the gun used in the deadly shooting of a health care executive in Manhattan on Saturday in a body of water in Central Park, New York.
According to the official, the divers were spotted in the Lake, which is located next to Bethesda Fountain and the park’s famous boathouse.
Investigators were still unable to locate at least two crucial pieces of evidence in the Wednesday murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on Saturday, including the rifle used in the crime and the electric bike the suspect was riding.
Authorities discovered a backpack in the park on Friday night, and it will be examined at a Queens forensic lab.
