Istanbul: According to a recent study conducted by researchers at University College London, residing close to airports with excessive airplane noise may raise your risk of heart problems, such as heart attacks and strokes.
In this study, 3,635 participants who lived close to four major airports in England had their extensive heart imaging data analyzed and compared with data from people who lived in locations with lower aircraft noise levels.
Researchers discovered that the risk was higher for people who were exposed to more airplane noise at night. This was probably because of things like disturbed sleep and spending more time at home, which enhanced noise exposure.
The researchers discovered that heart defects in those who are not exposed to airplane noise may increase the chance of serious cardiac events including stroke, arrhythmias, or heart attacks.
