According to the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (Unrwa), a convoy of over 100 UN relief trucks with food was brutally robbed in Gaza on Saturday.
In what is thought to be one of the worst cases of its sort, 97 lorries were lost, and their drivers were forced to unload their assistance at gunpoint after they had passed through the Israeli-controlled Kerem Shalom border with southern Gaza.
According to witnesses, masked men with grenades attacked the convoy.
Although he did not name the offenders, UNRWA Commissioner General Philippe Lazzarini stated that Gaza had “become an impossible environment to operate in” due to the “total breakdown of civil order.”
